Check Your Tires: Your tires are the only thing keeping your car connected to the road, so you want to make sure that your tires can handle whatever surface changes (snow, ice, slush, etc) you may encounter.
Prepare Your Windshield: Having good wipers is essential to keeping your windshield and visibility clear. Make sure you’ve topped off your windshield wiper fluid and have an extra bottle of fluid in the car, just in case!
Fill It Up: You’ll go through more gas during the winter season. If the temperatures really drop, you could be at risk for gas line freeze up. Try to keep your tank from dipping below the halfway point throughout the winter.
You can stop by any Sullivan Tire for a free tire inspection and air pressure check, to ensure that you’re ready and prepared for any impending road changes.

Sullivan Tire and Auto Service recently welcomed Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia to their new 200,000- square-foot distribution center and warehouse in Taunton, where he signed on to extend his relationship with the long-standing, family business for three more years.
Sullivan Tire and Dustin Pedroia’s eight-year relationship began during the 2008 Red Sox season. The current agreement, which runs through 2018, includes his appearance in Sullivan Tire advertising on television, radio, and in print media; it also includes the second baseman making personal appearances at Sullivan Tire functions.
“We are thrilled to have Dustin on our team for another three years,” said Paul Sullivan, Vice President of Sullivan Tire. “His strong work ethic, team spirit and family values represent the Sullivan Tire brand, and as avid Red Sox fans, we admire Dustin’s determination and grit, each and every season.”
“I’ve enjoyed working with Paul and his team at Sullivan Tire,” said Pedroia. “They are community-oriented and hardworking, and I’m happy to be extending my relationship with them.”
Dustin Pedroia took a moment to autograph the banner hanging in the Taunton warehouse as well, which celebrates Sullivan Tire’s 60th year in business.

It has been a crazy day for Red Sox fans as we’ve had to watch two of our top pitching aces, Jon Lester and John Lackey, get traded as the deadline closed at 4 PM. Lester and Johnny Gomes were traded to Oakland for Yoenis Cespedes, and Lackey was traded to St. Louis for Allen Craig and Joe Kelly.
It has been a down year for the Sox, who have struggled both offensively and defensively, and find themselves at the bottom of the division. This has pressured the front office to start improving the roster for the future, but it still begs the question: why trade away your best pitcher in Lackey?
The Lester trade, however came down to this: throughout the season, the Red Sox have been trying to start talks with Lester’s representatives about restructuring his contract that ends at the end of the season. It has been speculated that Lester wanted a 6 year deal worth around $144 million, which is something the Red Sox are not willing to match. Because of this, the Red Sox did not want to lose their ace and get nothing in return if they could not sign him this winter, which is the reason trade talks began in the first place.
Lester’s trade to the Oakland A’s gives the Red Sox Yoenis Cespedes, a two time home run derby power hitter who will greatly improve the middle of the lineup for the sox. Cespedes who has 17 home runs and 65 runners batted in this season has the potential to be the power hitter the Red Sox have been missing.
So, what do you think of these trades? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
On the eve of Opening Day at Fenway Park, we’re remembering one of our favorite pictures from our trip to Spring Training. This #tbt of Wally at JetBlue’s Fenway Park South was taken during the St. Patrick’s Day game and it perfectly combines two of our favorite things; the Red Sox and being Irish!
Sullivan Tire has been traveling to Spring Training for the past 10 years. This year, we continued the tradition of inviting our friends from Ablevision along too. Here’s what they had to say about this year’s trip:
“We had an awesome tour of JetBlue Park and we visited a manatee park too! Although no manatees were seen, we did see a lot of birds and fish jumping out of the water.
Kemar and Steve interviewed a bunch of fans outside of the game, and Kemar threw out the first pitch! It was really nice to be in 80 degree weather, coming from below freezing in Boston.
We got to hang out with Dustin Pedoria for a bit, and sit in on a Q&A session with NESN’s Don Orsillo.
Sullivan Tire has been sponsoring our trip for five years in a row, and we bring down different people every year. The crew loves it, and they come home with great memories every time.
Will you be wearing your Red Sox gear tomorrow? Are you going to the game? Let us know in the comments!
