  • Are you ready for winter driving? Take a listen to the clip below of Dustin Pedroia and Paul Sullivan discussing driving in the snow! :-)

    01 DRIVING IN SNOW

    Snow & Tires

We have plenty of All-Season and Snow Tires in stock should you be in need. Give us a call at 877-592-TIRE! Take a look at our Top 3 Winter Driving Tips below:

Check Your Tires: Your tires are the only thing keeping your car connected to the road, so you want to make sure that your tires can handle whatever surface changes (snow, ice, slush, etc) you may encounter.

Prepare Your Windshield: Having good wipers is essential to keeping your windshield and visibility clear.  Make sure you’ve topped off your windshield wiper fluid and have an extra bottle of fluid in the car, just in case!

Fill It Up: You’ll go through more gas during the winter season. If the temperatures really drop, you could be at risk for gas line freeze up. Try to keep your tank from dipping below the halfway point throughout the winter.

You can stop by any Sullivan Tire for a free tire inspection and air pressure check, to ensure that you’re ready and prepared for any impending road changes.

  • Sullivan Tire and Auto Service recently welcomed Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia to their new 200,000- square-foot distribution center and warehouse in Taunton, where he signed on to extend his relationship with the long-standing, family business for three more years.

Sullivan Tire and Dustin Pedroia’s eight-year relationship began during the 2008 Red Sox season. The current agreement, which runs through 2018, includes his appearance in Sullivan Tire advertising on television, radio, and in print media; it also includes the second baseman making personal appearances at Sullivan Tire functions.

“We are thrilled to have Dustin on our team for another three years,” said Paul Sullivan, Vice President of Sullivan Tire. “His strong work ethic, team spirit and family values represent the Sullivan Tire brand, and as avid Red Sox fans, we admire Dustin’s determination and grit, each and every season.”

“I’ve enjoyed working with Paul and his team at Sullivan Tire,” said Pedroia. “They are community-oriented and hardworking, and I’m happy to be extending my relationship with them.”

Dustin Pedroia took a moment to autograph the banner hanging in the Taunton warehouse as well, which celebrates Sullivan Tire’s 60th year in business.

  • Sullivan Tire has been producing Red Sox Magnet Schedules since the 1980s. The first magnetic schedule was produced in 1999, and has been a yearly tradition for 15 years! To celebrate this milestone, and to get Red Sox Nation excited about the newest magnet, Fuel for Thought will be posting a Red Sox Magnet Schedule Retrospective, every day until St. Patrick’s Day, when the 2014 Magnet will be available in our stores.

This was the first year we featured jetBlue Park at Fenway South on our Red Sox magnet. The photo of young baseball players was taken in February while we filmed our commercial spots with Dustin Pedroia.

We have been filming our commercials with Dustin during spring training for years, and have invited Ablevision along for the ride as well.

Mr. Sullivan began offering this trip to our crewmembers in 2010, in which 3 of them interviewed Red Sox Second Baseman Dustin Pedroia, who is as nice as he is talented.  Since then, the folks at Sullivan Tire, year after year, have given crewmembers of Ablevision the trip of a lifetime.

You can read more about Ablevision’s trip to Spring Training on our blog (click here!).

    2011 Red Sox Magnet

    2011 Red Sox Magnet

2011 was the end of Fenway park’s 10 year renovation and expansion program. Throughout the project, $285 million was spent on improvements to the park. It was the Red Sox’s 111th season, and despite striving for the World Series that year, the Sox ended up imploding in September and failed to make the playoffs.

During the season, we launched “The Ultimate Baseball Showdown” between Dustin Pedroia and Jon Lester. We gave Red Sox fans the opportunity to watch, guess and enter for a chance to win the chance to take some swings against Lester or pitch against Pedroia on the field at Fenway Park!

To support the Showdown, we also launched a newly redesigned website.  We updated SullivanTire.com with our popular chat support feature, tire prices and price comparison information, and promotional info! It was the first year Sullivan Tire worked with Lester, while it was our fourth with Pedroia.

The 2009 Red Sox Magnet was the first one to feature Dustin Pedroia, as opposed to Fenway park.  Fenway Park celebrated it’s 500th consecutive Red Sox sellout on June 17th, 2009. The Red Sox had the second best record at the All Star break, and Jim Rice‘s number 14 was retired that year.

In terms of the season, the Sox got off to slow start, but then won 11 straight games starting on April 15. It was the longest winning streak since the 2006 season! Jacoby Ellsbury stole home base during the April 26th game against the Yankees, capping off a three day sweep. Jon Lester made 225 strikeouts during the 2009 season, which would be his career high.

In 2008, the Red Sox season began in Japan, as part of the Major League Baseball Japan Series. The Sox played against the Oakland Athletics in the two day series, each team winning one of the two games, resulting in a tie.

Jacoby Ellsbury stole 50 bases throughout the season (a total of 50), and Dustin Pedroia lead the team with the highest average of the season. He was named MVP, and was a recipient of the Rawlings Golden Glove award. It was Pedroia and Sullivan Tire’s second year working together as well.

Kevin Youkilis hit 29 home runs, the most out of any Sox player, including David Ortiz who hit a total of 23 throughout the season. Jon Lester threw a no hitter against the Kansas City Royals on May 19th. Boston attracted over 3,000,000 fans to Fenway Park during the season.

  • Last week we were in sunny Arizona filming our newest series of TV Commercials with Dustin Pedroia. Hard to believe that this is our 7th year with Dustin! We signed him when he was just a rookie, and we all know that he’s had a lot of success since then. Perhaps we are his lucky charm!

This year, we brought in a very special guest to appear in the commercials with Dustin…Boston Bruins Center Gregory Campbell! We had both players reverse rolls for a day; Dustin provided Gregory with some baseball tips and Gregory showed Dustin how to hit a puck (Yes, Dustin was on the ice!).  We won’t reveal how they did, but you can see for yourself when the commercials begin airing in March.

It sure was a lot of fun making the spots. – We only wish we could have stayed to enjoy the Arizona sun a bit longer!

We’ll be posting more pictures from the shoot on our Facebook page, so be sure to visit us there. We’ve also got a bunch of our commercials, many featuring Dustin Pedroia, on our Youtube channel.

Best of luck to the Bruins on the rest of the season and Good Luck Dustin and the Red Sox in the upcoming season!

Do you have a favorite Sullivan Tire commercial?

  • As you may have guessed, we’re big fans of baseball here at Sullivan Tire.  From our yearly Red Sox magnets, to spending St. Patrick’s day at Fenway South in Ft. Lauderdale, to our great relationship with Dustin Pedroia, we enjoy every aspect of America’s favorite pastime.

This summer, we took love of baseball to a whole new level by hosting A Day at the Park for our employees and their families.  All employees who have been with the company for 5 or more years were invited to spend a day with the Portland Sea Dogs, New Hampshire Fisher Cats or the Pawtucket Red Sox.

Employees and their family members were treated to a delicious BBQ lunch before each game.

At each game, a Sullivan Tire employee had the honor of throwing out the first pitch. At the Portland Sea Dogs game it was John Wills, the Assistant Manager of the Portland, ME Commercial location at the Fisher Cats it was Ryan Ward, a newly minted 5 year tech of the Derry, NH retail location, and at the Paw Sox it was Chris Bailey, a technician from the Bedford, MA retail location.
