  • On June 25th, Sullivan Tire teamed with Yokohama, KaBOOM!, the Town of Rockland, and Play Areas for Rockland Kids (P.A.R.K.) to build a brand new playground at Hartsuff Park in a single day for the children and families of Rockland, Mass. and other surrounding communities.

The planning for this playground build began late last year during our 60th Anniversary. When it came to choosing the town to have the playground build, Rockland was an easy decision for us to make. Sullivan Tire was founded in Rockland by Bob “The Chef” Sullivan, and it’s where our first store was and still is located. This was a great way to thank the town that has allowed us to be a part of the community for 60 years.

A “Design Day” was held back in April with the Rockland community, Yokohama, KaBOOM!, and Sullivan Tire to begin the process of creating an ideal playground.

This vision came together due to a wonderful cast of about 287 smiling volunteers. It was a very busy day filled with mixing and pouring concrete, hauling mulch, painting park benches, and assembling the actual playground structures.

Thank you to all the volunteers, Yokohama, KaBOOM!, the town of Rockland, P.A.R.K., and everyone who lent a hand in creating this wonderful new space for children and families of all abilities to enjoy!

At Sullivan Tire, we pride ourselves with providing our customers with the best; from quality products, to technical skill, and unbeatable customer service. Whenever we hear from our customers letting us know we’ve done just that, it makes our day. So every Wednesday, we’ll be sharing a customer comment that made us proud to be a part of the Sullivan Tire Team.

“The employees at this location are as professional as they get! D.J. Packard & Matt Sechoka went out of their way to resolve a vibration problem I had relating to the tires on my new Ram 1500 pickup. They listened to my concerns and gave me 100% of their attention. After finding two bad tires they replaced them with new ones under warrantee however after driving on the new tires I still noticed some vibration while on the highway, that’s when I returned to ask the professionals at Sullivan’s to double check my truck to rule out any further issues with my truck. D.J. Packard took my truck for the day and after exhaustive testing and inspection of the tires found that the tonneau cover over the bed of the truck was loose enough that it bounced significantly while at highway speeds causing the truck to vibrate. I have witnessed this and fully agree with their assessment of the problem. Sullivan Tire Co. is lucky to have such a professional team of dedicated employees. I won’t hesitate to send my friends to Sullivan’s for their vehicle service. I thought you should know!”
