  • World Series Ads

Have you seen the ad we’ve been running this past week in the Globe and the Herald? What do you think?

    And more importantly, GO SOX!

  • As if Red Sox fans weren’t riled up already, Geoff Edgers of the Boston Globe has made a plea to banish what some consider a sacred Fenway tradition: Sweet Caroline.

In his piece today, Edgers argues that “we’re on the big stage again and our credibility’s at stake.” The whole article is worth a read, but a few choice quotes really stood out:

    • Edgers describes his “World Series Nightmare” as “swaying to soft rock as our championship run screeches to a karaoke-choked stop.”
    • Describing the song as a “largely forgettable, three-minute slab of Velveeta with a distinct creepiness…”
    • And, “We don’t need baseball-ready Prozac to make us forget what we’re watching.”

So, what do you think? Is Sweet Caroline past it’s prime as an eighth inning “pick me up”? Or is it a tradition that’s not to be messed with? Is there another song that Fenway should adopt? Let us know in the comments! (And most importantly, GO SOX!)

  • Saturday was a beautiful day for Boston sports, and our Weymouth, MA Grand Opening Celebration!

Our massive baseball inflatable and Big League Brian were on hand repping the Red Sox, and the Bruins Hummer stopped by for part of the day as well. Refreshments and games were provided all day, and we raffled off some great Boston-sports prizes, like a Greg Campbell autographed hockey stick, Bruins tickets, and tickets to Game 6 of the Red Sox.

It was a beautiful day to celebrate our newest location, and our great Boston sports pride.

Did you swing by the event this weekend? What did you think of the new store? Let us know in the comments!

  • If you were watching the Bruins game last night, you may have noticed a familiar green logo along the dasher board…

Sullivan Tire has signed on to be featured on the Bruins dasher board for another year.

Did you happen to catch Sullivan Tire on the dasher board during last night’s game? Were you at the Garden for the game, or were you watching at home? Do you have a favorite moment from last night’s win? Let us know in the comments!

  • Customers and employees of our Newton, Watertown and Boston locations had a special guess visit them on Tuesday June 26th.

Red Sox 2nd baseman Dustin Pedroia popped in for a visit and shook hands with excited customers in the waiting room. He graciously posed for pictures and listened to true Red Sox fans share their support for our hometown team.

A customer from the Newton location was thrilled to have the chance to meet Dustin after experiencing unexpected car issues. Paul wrote to us and said “The cost of the repair I needed was somewhat offset by meeting Pedey, PRICELESS!”.  Manager Matt Crane went on to share a little more and said that the customer was a huge sox fan and Pedroia is his favorite player. When the customer was given a ride home he went on to say this was one of the best days he’s had.

All of our employees took a picture with Dustin as well as a store team picture.  Paul Dixon, manager of our Watertown location, was also surprised to see Dustin stop by for a visit. Each one of his employees took pictures with Dustin as well.  After Newton and Watertown, Dustin stopped by our Boston location just down the road from Fenway and shook hands with manager Rich Lobo and the crew.  The visit to each store was met with smiling faces of those happy to wish Dustin well this season. And he was very genuine in his response with a simple thank you and a smile.

When asked how he thought the 3 store visits went, Area Supervisor John Miller just responded “All I can say is thank you. I’m speechless”.
