  • We are excited to announce that we have opened our 68th retail location in Westford, MA at 426 Littleton Road, site of the former Wayside Auto Services. The new 5,000 square-foot retail space opened for business as Sullivan Tire and Auto Service on October 27th, and has hit the ground running.

This location offers the same comprehensive tire and automotive service as our other retail stores throughout New England, including 18 brands of tires, oil changes, brakes, batteries, engine diagnostics, shocks and struts, fluid flushes, alignments, and factory scheduled maintenance. Also available at this store is a courtesy shuttle for customers needing local rides to and from the Westford location.

And, of course, the biggest thing we offer to Westford, Littleton, and other surrounding communities is the same customer service that the people of New England have come to know and expect from Sullivan Tire and Auto Service.

At the helm as store manager is one of our longtime employees John Ferrera. He will be assisted by Robert “Fuzzy” Karr, the former Wayside Auto Services owner, and the rest of the former Wayside Auto Services staff.

It’s going to be fun in the sun this summer at Hartsuff Park in Rockland, MA! Our team here at Sullivan Tire has partnered with KaBOOM!, Yokohama, the town of Rockland, and Play Areas for Rockland Kids (P.A.R.K.) to build a new playground in Hartsuff Park. We are looking to have around 200 volunteers for the actual “Build Day” on Saturday, June 25th, and we are well under way to reaching that number.

Back in April, a “Design Day” was held in Rockland to start the process of creating the ideal playground. The day consisted of three parts: a site walk through, a child engagement portion, and a community meeting.

The site walk through was to familiarize ourselves with the area and to start thinking of ideas of what we wanted the playground to look like.

After the walk through, Sullivan Tire, KaBOOM!, Yokohama and the Rockland community sat down with the children from the town to draw their idea of a dream playground. The children came up with excellent ideas, and we were able to use these drawings as the foundation for the customized playground.

Then, it was time to get to do a bit of detective work! The community meeting held after the children’s engagement was to interpret their drawings into creating a playground that held true to the visions they created. Were the children looking for something to climb on? Were they looking for something to swing from? These questions were used to decipher what the children thought would be fun.

The Rockland community along with Sullivan Tire and Yokohama were presented with three different playground designs from KaBOOM! based off the drawings and suggestions. The winning design was chosen, and we’re excited to see it come to life!

So, on Saturday, June 25th, rain or shine, we are going to build the dream playground!

If you would like to volunteer your time for this wonderful cause, there is still time! No experience is neede. Gloves, t-shirts, breakfast, and lunch will all be provided. Please click on this link to fill out a waiver form and signup:

  • Have you ever been stranded due to a dead battery? What did you do? Nothing is worse than hearing that dreaded churning sound when you try and start your car on a cold, winter morning.

With most car parts, like your tires or brakes, you can typically see or feel the wear and tear, letting you know it’s a good time to get it checked out or replaced. With a battery, you typically don’t know there’s trouble until you’re in it. That’s why it’s a good idea to get it checked before it’s too late.

How often should I get my battery checked?

We recommend testing your battery once a year, preferably before the New England cold weather hits. The first sign of a failing battery is poor cold weather performance. If the battery struggles to start your vehicle on a cold morning, you should have your battery tested immediately. In many cases, your battery may fail with little or no warning.

What is included in a battery check?

At Sullivan Tire, we don’t just take a quick look at your car’s battery; we check the entire charging system. That means we’re looking at your battery, alternator, drive belt, starter, wires, cables, and your charging systems overall condition.

How much does a battery check cost?

Nothing! It’s free right now at Sullivan Tire!

    Free Battery Check

How much does a new battery cost?

Usually somewhere in the $99 – $130 range.

How long does a battery last?

Anywhere from three to six years depending on use, construction and routine maintenance performed.

When is the last time you’ve had your battery checked? Sullivan Tire has all the tools and training necessary to properly test your battery. Should you need a new one, we can typically install it in the same time it takes to change your oil.

  • With Winter Storm #Jonas on it’s way towards New England, it’s important to be prepared for the challenges wet weather can cause, especially on the roads. We’ve put together this quick Storm Preparation Checklist to help you ready your vehicle for the impending winter weather.

    Tips For After the Storm:

Peering out the window the morning after a storm, you may feel a rush of joy seeing bright, white, snow covering your neighborhood. That feeling will quickly fade when you remember you’ve got to dig out your car and clean it off before getting to work in the morning. If you’re like me, and not a “morning person”, you may feel the urge to rush through this final step in order to make it to work on time. However, no matter how cranky, coffee deprived, or late I may be, I always pay attention to the following:

The Roof: We’ve all seen them. Those vehicles with a stack of snow about two feet high on the roof, barreling down the road. Sure it looks comical and ridiculous, but it can also be very dangerous. That snow can freeze over, break off and hit another vehicle causing major damage. A few states have passed laws against driving with snow and ice on a vehicle, and for the sake of your fellow commuter’s safety, it’s always wise to clear your roof off.

Lights: The instinct to clear your car for your own visibility is natural, but what about the visibility of other motorists? Clear your headlights and brake lights of snow and ice to improve your visibility, and help your vehicle be seen by other motorists.

What tips do you have for keeping your car safe and prepared during winter weather? Let us know in the comments!
