    Michelin Defender (3)

    Features and Benefits

    • Exceptional Grip- Michelin utilizes IntelliSipe technology which allows the tire to stop shorter and more safety to the occupants of the vehicle!
    • MaxTouch Construction- Longer wear by providing tread block rigidity. This leads to optimum contact with the road during acceleration, breaking and cornering.
    • Save Fuel- Interlocking swipe action creates a more rigid tread block. This leads to a reduced starting tread depth which leads to lower rolling resistance and a more eco-friendly result.

The LTX M/S2 is a great performance tire on light trucks and SUVs that can be used in all seasons.

    Features and Benefits

    • Great Density of 3D Active Sipes- More biting edge and better traction in all-weather seasons.

  • Buying a used car can be a huge investment for an individual or family. Safety is a huge priority when purchasing a new ride. Come into any Sullivan Tire and we will perform a Comprehensive Vehicle Inspection (CVI) for only $39.95!

A Comprehensive Vehicle Inspection will alert the customer of anything that is wrong with a car and all the work that should be done before it hits the road. Our CVI, which follows Motorist Assurance Program (MAP) guidelines, includes but is not limited to:

Brake InspectionBrakes are perhaps the most important safety feature on your vehicle. Brakes should be checked about every 6,000 miles to make sure everything is working properly. We will check brake lines, frictional material, rotor thickness, and brake fluids.

Steering and Suspension– There are many moving parts to make steering and suspension as smooth and straight as possible. If one element is off, the car may drag or steer slightly in the wrong direction.

Starting/ Charging System– This includes vital areas such as the car battery and alternator. Sullivan tire will also make sure that other areas of the charging system such as the drive belt, starter, wires, and cables are intact and working well!

Heating/ Cooling Systems– Sullivan Tire will check radiator effectiveness, coolant levels, and belts and hoses. It is important to make sure coolant levels are high and of the correct pH so the engine can be cooled, especially in these hot summer months!

Engine Performance Maintenance– The engine is the most important (and pricey) part of the car. Detect any problems before they lead to engine failure and huge repairs. Sullivan Tire will check 14 different parts of the engine to make sure everything is working properly.

Wheels & Tires– Our American Service Excellence (ASE) certified technicians are tire specialists. They will check wear patterns, tread depth, tire pressure, and valves. Tire pressure can be checked at any Sullivan Tire location absolutely free!

Wipers & Lighting– We will check all the necessities that make your car run safely for yourself, and those around you. We will check everything from headlights to license plate late, to back windshield wipers.

Transmission– Transmission fluid is important to lubricate and cool all of the internal components of the transmission. Fluid can be depleted and replaced following manufacturer’s recommended service interval.

Ride Control– Testing shows ride control units, such as shock, struts and springs, degrade measurably after 50,000 miles and replacing these units is suggested to improve vehicle performance.

Manufacturer’s Recommended Services– Anything else your car may need!

Make an appointment today to get any vehicle checked out before you purchase it! You can also bring in your vehicle if you are unsure if it may need any repairs! We hope to see you soon!

  • A fun and crazy day of baseball ends in dramatic fashion at the 2015 Eastern League All-Star Classic Presented by Sullivan Tire! Festivities started around 3pm at Hadlock Stadium, home of the Portland Sea Dogs. It was an autograph seekers goldmine as players and coaches from both the East and the West team signed autographs before the game. Thousands of fans lined up waiting with anticipation until it was there time to talk to players and have their ball signed. After batting practice and plenty of autographs, an exciting homerun derby took place. A wide variety of prospects took their turns swinging for the fences, but no one thought much when Dan Gamache took his turn. Gamache of the Altoona Curve, Pittsburg Pirates Double A affiliate, had never hit more than six homeruns in his short minor league career. Gamache surprised everybody with his power as he was able to win the derby, hitting four homeruns in the final round on just nine swings.

The All-Star introductions took place around 7pm with the starters from the East walking from Sky-Box seats down the rows of fans to “Field of Dreams” music and onto the field, fans applauded and youngsters stood awe struck trying to high five the players as they went by. Red Sox catcher and Sea Dog Alumni Blake Swihart threw out the ceremonial first pitch, then proceeded to walk around the stadium shaking each fan’s hand as he passed by. He even came up and said hello to the Sullivan Tire employees who attended the event!

    unnamed (1)

Blake Swihart and members of the marketing team Mike Panarelli, Steve Karlberg, and Mark Sullivan!

The East got off to an early lead as Sea Dog shortstop Marco Hernandez singled to lead the inning off and eventually scored on a fielder’s choice. The home team was able to tack on three more runs in the second inning sacrifice fly by Trenton’s Jake Cave, and a two run blast by Hernandez!

The gritty West team was able to manufacture 4 runs through a variety of timely base hits and walks to tie the game up after nine innings. To avoid straining the pitchers and risking injury in extra innings, the game was decided in a very unique tie breaker. The announcer informed a delighted crowd that the game would be decided by a home-run derby! Each team would select three players to take one swing each, and whichever team hits the most homeruns wins! If none of the three players hit a homerun it would result in a sudden death swing per swing finale, similar to a soccer shootout. It took 11 rounds, but Reading’s Brian Pointer was able to hit a walk-off home run to win the game for the East which sent his teammates and the crowd into a frenzy!

    Eastern League All Star game

A postgame firework show took place after the game where it was announced that hometown Marco Hernandez won MVP of the All-Star game! Hernandez had a great game going 2-2 with a homerun and two runs scored. Sullivan Tire is honored to have hosted this  All-Star game in the great city of Portland! We hope you visited our table outside where you could enter to win season tickets to the Sea Dogs next year! • Sullivan Tire would like to give praise and congratulate USA’s women’s soccer team on winning the 2015 FIFA World Cup! The United States defeated Japan 5-2 in a rematch of the most previous Women’s World Cup final which took place four years ago.

The USA was on fire from the beginning of the match scoring four goals in the first half. Carli Lloyd was dominant and notched the fastest hat-trick in Women’s World Cup history in just 16 minutes! Lloyd scored her first two goals in front of the net and the third was a booming shot from half field that beat the Japanese goal tender who was caught too far away from the goal. Lauren Holiday and Tobin Heath were also able to score goals to propel USA to a dominant victory over Japan. As time ran down near the end of the match, veterans Christie Rampone and Abby Wambach were subbed in to play what will be the last match of their World Cup careers. After the game ended and USA claimed victory, the two veterans were the last to walk across the champion’s stage and hoisted the World Cup trophy together to rejoice victory with their teammates and the inspired American crowd.

Soccer: Women's World Cup-Final-Japan at United States

Lloyd won the coveted Golden Ball which is given to the top player in the tournament. She was able to score six goals in seven games and also tally an assist. Though the USA dominated offensively in the final game, credit needs to be given to the great American defense throughout the entire tournament.  The back line of Becky Sauerbrunn, Ali Krieger, Julie Johnston, Meghan Klingenberg, and goaltender Hope Solo only allowed three goals during the seven games played in the World Cup. Solo was able to win the Golden Gloves award given to the best goalkeeper.

Sullivan Tire is very proud of the Women’s National Soccer team for winning the FIFA World Cup title and being an exceptional representation of the USA! Join Sullivan Tire in celebrating the patriotic month of July with our special sale of Buy 3, Get 1 FREE on all Goodyear and Kelley tires! Be like the USA Women’s National Team and take advantage of the opportunity, book your appointment in July before it’s too late!
