  • Remember to Play Your PART this winter with your tires! Winter in New England can be especially harsh on your vehicle. Your tires can benefit from you playing your PART:

    • P: Check your air pressure early and often. Maintaining proper air inflation is crucial to getting the most out of your tires.
    • A: Proper wheel alignment. Have your alignment checked 1-2 times a year or at the first sign of the vehicle not tracking straight when driving on a straight stretch of road.
    • R: Tire rotations. Regularly rotating your tires will help you achieve more uniform wear. Most tire rotations are every 5,000 – 7,000 miles, unless your vehicle’s owners manual specifies differently.
    • T: Check your tread. A tread depth gauge is an inexpensive and effective tool for measuring the amount of tread left on your tires. If your tread depth is at 2/32″ or lower in depth, the Department of Transportation (DOT) considers this the end of a tire’s useful life and should be replaced.

  • Bring your vehicle into your local Sullivan Tire for a FREE Battery Check! A typical battery lasts anywhere from three to six years depending on use, construction and routine maintenance. The battery should be tested annually, preferably in the fall before temperature drops too much.

The first sign of a failing battery is cold weather performance. If your battery is struggling to start your vehicle on a cold morning, you should have your battery tested immediately. In many cases your battery may fail with little or no warning. The cold winter months are particularly tough on batteries.

Sullivan Tire has all the tools and training necessary to properly test your battery. Should you need a new one, we can typically install it in the same time it takes to change your oil. Below is a special offer in case you’re in need of a new battery or any other auto service. To schedule an auto service appointment, click here.
