The Brewer facility has grown from four bays to seven operating bays since it’s opening in May of 2009. The seven bays are showcased to the very busy Wilson Street, the gateway path to Acadia National Park and the famous Bar Harbor.

Brewer opened with all new equipment (John Bean) and Albert Nathan, the lead technician, has worked diligently to keep it all in ‘like new’ condition. Our Brewer store is currently staffed by seven full-time employees. All Technicians are ASE certified. Peter Pelletier, a 7-year Sullivan Tire employee, has managed the store since it’s opening in 2009.

“A great crew that works hard together. These guys have no problem staying hours after our normal closing hours to ensure the customers are taken care of.” –Manager, Peter Pelletier

“I started with Sullivan Tire in June of 2007 as a manager in the Bangor, Hammond Street location. This store opened in May of 2009 and I was lucky enough to be at the helm. I was amazed at how much work was involved in setting up a store. Everyone from Building Maintenance, Equipment Purchasing, Lift Works, Parts, Distribution, etc., were spot on their game. Everything from stripping the parking lot, setting up shop, and getting chairs in the waiting area was done in what seemed like a couple of weeks! I have enjoyed working with and as a part of Team Sullivan!”

  • Memorial Day Weekend

The weekend is finally here and we at Sullivan Tire are looking forward to taking some extra time to be with our family, friends and favorite BBQ foods.

If you’re planning on doing any traveling this weekend, make sure you stop by Sullivan Tire to get your tires and vehicle checked out.  We recommend checking your tire’s air pressure and overall condition before heading out on a long trip. If your tires are excessively worn or in need of replacing, we’ve got an awesome Buy 3 Get 1 Free sale on all Goodyear Tires!

We also offer a FREE Vehicle Visual Inspection (or VVI).  Our ASE Certified technicians will give your car a complete overall check and show you a report card of how your vehicle’s various parts are holding up. You can see what is in good condition, what is wearing down a bit, and what needs to be fixed immediately.  Again, this visual inspection is completely free and can be done by any Sullivan Tire location.

    VVI

All of our 66 retail locations are open tomorrow* to make sure your vehicle is ready for whatever you’ve got planned this Memorial Day weekend. From tires to autoservice, “we’re always here to get you there!”

What are your plans for the weekend? Will you be hitting up the beach or any BBQs? Is there a parade or celebration in your town? Let us know in the comments!

    * Our locations will closed on Sunday and Monday so that our employees can enjoy the holiday with their families.

Thank you Tom K. and staff at Leominster MA store for getting me back home safely on Saturday, March 1st. I arrived at 4:55 PM with a leaking tire (from a bent rim) and they put the spare onto my car so I could get home. I will be sure to choose Sullivan Tire for future business!

  • It’s almost Memorial Day weekend, and the unofficial kick off to summer is a popular road trip weekend. For today’s Tire Tip Tuesday, we’ll go over what you need to check before heading out on the road. First, we’ll focus on tires, and then we’ll cover a few other car care basics to make sure your road trip is not only safe, but fun!

    1. Tire Inspection

Check your tire’s air pressure, tread depth, and overall condition before heading out on a road trip. An under inflated tire will cause wear and tear on the outside edges, while driving on over-inflated tires will result in excessive wear on the center tread. If any part of your tire’s tread is at or below 2/32″ depth, the Department of Transportation (DOT) considers the tire as having reached the end of it’s useful life and should be replaced. You should also check your tires for any bulges or tears in the sidewall, as these are ticking timebombs when it comes to your tire’s safety. If you’ve got a spare, make sure it’s properly inflated and ready to use as well!

Be Tire Smart! Do Your P.A.R.T.

Sullivan Tire will inspect your tire’s air pressure, tread depth and overall condition year round FOR FREE at any one of our 66 locations throughout New England.

    2. Car Checkup

Now that your tires are set, what about the rest of your car? When was your last oil change? How are your brakes, belts, and hoses holding up? Are your transmission fluids at the right level? Our Comprehensive Vehicle Inspection (CVI) is a great way to give your vehicle an overall inspection, so that you know everything is working properly. The CVI helps to catch any issues that you may have encountered over the winter, and prevent anything from damaging your car down the line.

    3. Fuel Up

Gas prices go up around holiday weekends, so try to fuel up a few days before you hit the road.

    4.  Stay Charged

Make sure your cell phone and GPS are fully charged, and that you have a car charger as well. You don’t want to get lost somewhere unfamiliar or be unable to call for assistance.

    5. Pack Snacks

Depending on where you’re going, and how long it will take to get there, you’ll probably want some snacks for the road, (and maybe need some caffeine to stay awake!)

    6. Entertainment

Music? Podcasts? Games for kids? Whatever you need to get through a weekend road trip, make sure you remember it before you leave!

You can check out our Pinterest Board for more ideas on how to make your upcoming road trip safe and fun!

  • Mom’s Nite Out

Last Thursday, representatives of Sullivan Tire’s retail stores and Marketing Department participated in the Simon Mall’s annual Mom’s Nite Out event. The kick off to Mother’s Day Weekend took place at the Emerald Square Mall in North Attleboro, MA, South Shore Plaza in Braintree, MA and the Mall of New Hampshire in Manchester, NH.

All of the events were free for Moms and local vendors provided all sorts of free samples, giveaways, and prizes to attendees. The Sullivan Tire tables had free Sullivan Tire tote bags (which were perfect for all the goodies the Mom’s collected throughout the event) as well as coupons for auto service!

  • Tonight, the Boston Bruins will face off against the Montreal Canadiens for a chance to play in the Eastern Conference Final.  Why is this game such a big deal? The Boston Globe’s Christopher Gasper explains:

Bruins-Canadiens is one of the premier rivalries in North American sports, spanning nine decades, dozens of great players, endless dislike, and countless heartbreak for the Spoked-Believers. For awhile this was as competitive a rivalry as an egg shell against the side of a frying pan — the same side always cracked.

The Canadiens have won 24 of the 33 playoff meetings and won 18 straight from 1946 to 1987.

The Habs Hex was broken in 1988. But most of the prior 18 series weren’t close…

No rivalry in major pro sports has featured as many Game 7 showdowns as Bruins-Canadiens and the Bruins have also set a record for skating in a Game 7 for seven consecutive years.

With such a high stakes game being played in Boston tonight, we’ll definitely be tuning in to see what happens. Where will you be watching the game tonight? Do you have any predictions as to how it will turn out?
