  • Over 450 employees of Sullivan Tire & Auto Service were in attendance Sunday, March 25th at The Marriot in Quincy for our annual Awards Breakfast.

Sullivan Tire President Robert D. Sullivan, Vice President of Marketing Paul Sullivan, Vice President of Sales John Donovan and CFO Joseph Zaccheo presented awards in honor of the employees who qualified for various company recognitions as well as employees with 10 or more years of service.

Our Community Service Award went to Thomas Farley Sr. of East Bridgewater, MA for his volunteer work with Saint Bridget’s Church.  Also recognized at the event were technicians that recently received Master Technician status and all employees that have been with us for 10 years or longer. To date, twenty percent of the Sullivan Tire workforce has been with the company for 10 years or more.  That’s a stat we are very proud of!

  • Hello Everyone,

Well it is just over a month before Marathon Monday and I am very pleased with my training and conditions at this juncture! This is a critical period as the long runs become very important and can make or break the goal time you hope to achieve. Certainly diet, proper rest and other variables factor in, however, the long run is the key element.

Over the last month, I have completed two long training runs of 17.5 and 20 miles respectively. On top of that, I ran a personal best (2 hours and 39 minutes) at the Black Cat 20 Mile Road Race in Salem, MA last week. Mixed in with these long runs have been some more moderate distances of anywhere from 5 to 10 miles, as well as several hill workouts (which are very grueling!) along the marathon course in Newton.

I will be competing in the New Bedford, MA Half Marathon this weekend in hopes of running a great 13 miles (which I can project the following 13 based off of my time). Then Saturday the 24st of March, one last long run of 21 miles along the marathon course from Hopkinton to Boston College. This will be invaluable, as this gives me an opportunity to work out any “kinks” on a pretrial marathon run along the actual course.

I will keep my fingers crossed so that I can stay healthy and injury free over the next month. I hope that April 16th will bring a favorable day of weather and help make many, many days of hard work, worth all the while.

The excitement is building and the days are starting to warm up as Spring approaches; we are almost out of the woods as another Winter comes and goes!

    Thanks for reading!

    Sincerely,

    Mark E. Sullivan

  • During the month of March, Sullivan Tire will be a New Hampshire Red Cross sponsor, offering incentives for volunteers who make a blood donation.  We started incorporating Red Cross blood drives into our in-store events over the past year due to Mark Sullivan’s personal connection with the Red Cross.

“I have been a blood donor at the Red Cross facility in Braintree, MA and Manchester, NH for the past few years.  I have enjoyed the rewarding feeling of giving back to the community by donating my time and helping the Red Cross in its quest to maintain ample blood supplies. With so many national disasters over the past several years, blood supplies are at an alarmingly low rate.”

Over a year into our partnership, Sullivan Tire has hosted many mobile blood drives at our retail locations throughout Maine, New Hampshire and now Massachusetts. Additionally, we provide potential donors Sullivan Tire discounts, refreshments and assorted giveaway prizes.

We feel that this is a great opportunity to support the Red Cross organizations within the communities we are located.  In addition to this month’s sponsorship, we have scheduled the following mobile blood drives in Massachusetts.

    Wednesday, March 28
    10am – 3pm
    120 Ivory Street
    Braintree, MA

    Friday, April 27
    10am – 3pm
    637 Lynnway
    Lynn, MA

    Saturday, April 28
    10am – 3pm
    1VFW Drive
    Rockland, MA

Thanks for your support and we hope to see you at one of our blood drives soon!

  • All About Misty

Ever wonder who that adorable Saint Bernard is starring in our commercials alongside Paul Sullivan and Dustin Pedroia? Her name is Misty, and she is our beloved mascot. You may also recognize Misty from www.sullivantire.com. She has been busy helping customers find the perfect tire for their vehicles with the “Let Misty Help Choose” feature on our website. Misty will ask customers a series of questions to help narrow down the choices and find the tire that fits each customer’s precise wants and needs.

So, why did we choose a Saint Bernard as our mascot? Saint Bernard’s are an extremely loyal, hard-working breed. These qualities are highly valued at Sullivan Tire and are embedded in the framework of this company.

Prepare for Misty to get even more involved with Sullivan Tire! She just made a visit to our Corporate Office, and will be making appearances at several upcoming Sullivan Tire events. Misty is now on Facebook, so make sure to visit http://www.facebook.com/SullivanTireMisty to learn more about her and to see pictures of her most recent adventures. Check her page often to find out when she will make an appearance at an event near you!
